INCITEGov, together with EVNet and Plan International, conduct Capacity Building for CSOs on Social Protection in Tacloban

From September 26-68, 2016, The International Center for Innovation, Transformation, and Excellence in Governance, Inc. (INCITEGov), Plan International, and Eastern Visayas Network of NGOs and POs (EVNet conducted a Capacity Building for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on Social Protection in Leyte Park Hotel, Tacloban City. 


Two batches of participants from Samar and Eastern Samar, specifically from the communities of Salcedo, Maydulong, Guian and San Jorge attended and actively participated in the activity.

Representing different sectors such as Women, Youth, Senior Citizens, Person with Disabilities, Farmers, Fisher folks, etc., the participants were trained on the topics of mainstreaming Social Protection and Organizational Development and Management of NGOs, People's and Grassroots Organizations.

The activity aimed to address the limitations of current CSOs on their knowledge and skills on organizational management and strengthening; and ensure functionality of the CSOs. 

It also aimed to provide CSOs the necessary skills to be able to effectively monitor the existing social protection program of the government, and to advocate for inclusion in the social protection program.

The following modules were tackled on the three-day summit: Understanding Social Protection and the Civil Society on the first day; CSO Organization Management and Development and Planning, and Human Rights on the second day; and Resource Mobilization and CSO Networking on the last day.
