INCITEGov participates in the Social Development Initiatives Summit in Davao City

Last August 18, 2016, INCITEGov (The International Center for Innovation, Transformation, and Excellence in Governance, Inc.) participated in the Social Development Initiatives Summit in Davao, leading the submission of the CSO agenda and inputs on Social Protection, Public Safety, and the Youth to the 15 Cabinet Secretaries present in the summit.

Secretary Jun Evasco, who organized the summit, led the cabinet secretaries in the acceptance of the CSO agenda and inputs, which was one of the outputs during the summit. This will be presented to President Duterte for executive action.

The Social Development Initiatives Summit themed as “Malasakit at Pagbabago”, was organized upon the command of President Duterte, who ordered that all Filipinos should live in security with regards to their food, housing, jobs, livelihood, and financial assistance. According to Evasco, the purpose of the summit was to have conversations that would result towards a social development agenda to address poverty.

Representatives from different government departments and agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, people's organizations, and sectoral representatives attended the summit, and participated in different workshops on  housing, education, health, culture, environment, and climate change.

Cabinet members Leonor Briones (DepEd), Benjamin Diokno (DBM), Rodolfo Salalima (ICT), Vitaliano Aguirre II (DOJ), Maria Leonor Robredo (OVP and HUDCC), Leoncio Evasco Jr., Ramon Lopez (DTI),  Peter Laviña (PACE), and Ernesto Pernia (NEDA) participated in the summit.
